La Comunità Missionaria Intergentes (CMI) è una comunità laicale, espressione dello spirito missionario che esorta a condividere l’amore di Dio, in Gesù Cristo, nella vita di ogni donna e di ogni uomo fino agli estremi confini della terra (At 1, 8).
L’orizzonte di un comune impegno per l’incontro tra le pluralità religiose e culturali, l’attenzione alle povertà e ai bisogni di ciascun uomo e donna e la cura della Terra disegnano i contorni della missione intergentes, la cui linfa è il movimento d’amore di Dio in Cristo.
La CMI propone un cammino di ricerca, alla luce dei valori evangelici e della pluralità delle radici religiose e sapienziali umane, per la realizzazione di un umanesimo ed una fratellanza universali verso cui l’umanità tende per una vita abbondante (Gv 10,10).
Simbolo della CMI è il granello di senape che, diventato un piccolo albero rigoglioso, offre ristoro agli esseri viventi e alla natura tutta (Mt 13,31-32; Mc 4,30-32; Lc 13,18-19): la spiritualità del seme, che muore per dare la vita (Gv 12,24-25; Lc 9,25) e la spiritualità dell’albero, che vive comunitariamente i valori del Regno, instaurando relazioni di prossimità.
È un albero alla cui ombra trovano riparo popoli di ogni provenienza, perché, come dice il Signore: «li condurrò sul mio monte santo e li colmerò di gioia nella mia casa di preghiera. I loro olocausti e i loro sacrifici saliranno graditi sul mio altare, perché il mio tempio si chiamerà casa di preghiera per tutti i popoli» (Isaia 57, 7); (cf. Mc 11, 17).

The Intergentes Missionary Community (CMI) is a lay community, an expression of the missionary spirit that urges us to share the love of God, in Jesus Christ, in the life of every woman and every man to the ends of the earth (Acts 1, 8 ).
The horizon of a common commitment to the meeting between religious and cultural pluralities, the attention to the poverty and needs of each man and woman and the care of the Earth outline the contours of the intergentes mission, whose lifeblood is the movement of ‘love of God in Christ.
The CMI proposes a path of research, in the light of evangelical values and the plurality of human religious and wisdom roots, for the realization of a universal humanism and brotherhood towards which humanity tends for an abundant life (Jn 10.10).
The symbol of the CMI is the mustard seed which, having become a small luxuriant tree, offers refreshment to living beings and to all of nature (Mt 13.31-32; Mk 4.30-32; Lk 13.18-19): spirituality of the seed, which dies to give life (Jn 12.24-25; Luke 9.25) and the spirituality of the tree, which lives the values of the Kingdom in community, establishing relationships of proximity.
It is a tree in whose shade people of all backgrounds find shelter, because, as the Lord says: «I will lead them to my holy mountain and fill them with joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar, because my temple will be called a house of prayer for all peoples” (Isaiah 57, 7); (cf. Mk 11, 17).
